Our Workshop
Celebrating its 46th year, the Missouri Urban Journalism Workshop welcomed 20 students from six U.S. states and Sweden to the School of Journalism for a seminar that immersed them in the Missouri Method last year.
Over the course of the nine-day workshop, the students worked together with the guidance of professional journalists to produce stories, photos and broadcasts. They reported and wrote about the divisions facing the nation.
To discover the fast-paced world of professional journalism during this 7-day Missouri Urban Journalism Workshop, you will produce stories in a professional setting including the Columbia Missourian newspaper and KOMU-TV, the local NBC affiliate, as well as multiple media platforms. Your instruction will be guided by faculty experts at the Missouri School of Journalism and industry professionals.
